Cirque Roots is back again this year with our Winter Solstice experience with fire dancing, acrobatics, aerial, & stilt dance. With over 20 performers, we can't wait to share this beautiful performance with all of YOU!
This annual community-style event will be taking place during sunset overlooking the beautiful Catalina mountains. We encourage patrons to bring their own chairs and blankets as they take in the entertainment.
This holiday season, come share this experience with us as we celebrate the Winter Solstice passage of the sun as it dips to its lowest point in our Sonoran Desert sky, the shortest day and longest night. Witness clever choreography with 20 performers offering fire dancing, acrobatics, aerial, and stilt dance. This unique time of year has become important on many levels, both culturally and physically. Our ancestors have attached spiritual and social meaning to the solstice, to this holiday season, and to the northern winter. We dedicate this dance to our ancestors, listen to their stories, and take this joyous opportunity to celebrate this special place in Earth’s orbit.

Cirque Roots Productions & Studio is a grassroots artist collective that was founded in 2011 with a vision to inspire the community to create and play through movement and dance. Based in a 1910's adobe warehouse in downtown Tucson located near Dunbar Springs and Barrio Anita, Cirque Roots created a space for the community to engage in circus-inspired arts and to co-create in the community through conscious events and workshops. The Cirque Roots performance crew has been performing collectively over the past six years, created 5 original productions, and was nominated for a 2015 Lumies Award: Best Arts Organization.
